Go into any supermarket and you’ll find their generic products available alongside regular brands, often at vastly cheaper prices too. What’s wrong with a bit of competition right? After all, do those corn flakes taste any different because of the logo on the box?
But then there are those sneaky manufactures, who ride on the coattails of iconic and established brands. They use a variety of humorous tactics to trick you, sometimes they mimic a brands typeface and add minor variations to their name / logo to fool you into think you’re buying the real deal.
You might think you’ve got a bargain at Dolce & Gabbana, but when you look a little closer you’re actually buying from Dolce & Banana! Or how about relaxing with a ‘Jones Danhse” on the rocks instead of a Jack Daniels? Or instead of buying a My Little Pony toy for your daughter or sister, you end up with a Fun Neddy Lovely Demon Donkey?
Sound to good to be true?
Well, these items actually exist, quite how long they will remain on shelves before the companies in question start suing them remains to be seen. But in the meantime here’s 14 brands that truly, aren’t fooling anybody.
